The Great JDUC Flood of the summer of 2018 greatly impacts the P&CC. The service was undergoing renovations, and so all major copiers were in storage; however, the new wide-format machine had to be propped up on spare wood to protect it from the inches of water flowing into the store. The machine was then named Tuelle, the Gaelic word for “flood” to commemorate the event.
The flood caused extensive damage to floors, walls and counters, and created issues with the wiring of machines and cash terminals, causing the service to be closed for significantly longer than anticipated over the summer.
Repairs to walls and counters were completed in December 2018.
